ATL Presents Special Cloth To H.E John Agyekum Kufour
Akosombo Textiles Limited has presented a special cloth to His Excellency John Agyekum Kufour to commemorate his 80th birthday celebration on December 8 this year.
The cloth which has a bold picture of the former president imprinted on it with the inscription “Happy 80th birthday” also has beautiful patterns of kente colourfully designed in it.
During the brief private presentation, Mr Jacob Adom Oduro, Sales Manager at ATL who presented the cloth to Mr Kufour said, “Our president is 80 years and we all know what he did for the country so we at ATL want to be associated with his contributions to the development of this country and we felt that at an 80 year celebration, we want to present him with the cloth to honour him.”
He added that the cloth company felt the need to be a part of the H.E Former President’s eightieth birthday and decided to show their gratitude by designing his own special cloth. After the presentation, H.E John Kufour who was very humbled by the kind gesture showed appreciation to the company.
Commercialising the cloth
In an interview with GhanaCrusader.com, Mr Oduro disclosed that there are plans underway to commercialise the cloth since Mr Kufuor is a statesman and revered by many Ghanaians across the country. He said, “this is not just a cloth for the family. we recognise that H.E John Kufour is revered by many Ghanaians and other leaders hence the need to commercialise it”
“We know that Ghanaians are associated with cloth. It is a memorable thing and it can be used as a souvenir so we urge all who revere him to purchase the cloth to make the celebration a memorable one,” he added.
