Alliance for Green revolution in Africa (AGRA)
The John A. Kufuor Foundation is part of the consortium implementing the Public-Private Partnership for Competitive & Inclusive Rice Value Chain Development: Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) – Rice Chapter , funded by AGRA with support from the German Development Corporation and the USAID.
The goal of the project is to improve rice farmers’ income and food security/Safety in the Northern, Brong Ahafo, Volta, Ashanti and the Central regions, through enhanced rice production and marketing systems.
The key objectives are
- To increase rice productivity for small holder farmers
- To strengthen and expand access to output markets
- To increase capacity of smallholder farming households and agricultural systems to better prepare for and adapt to shocks and stresses
- Strengthen continental, regional, and government multi-sectoral coordination, and mutual accountability in the agricultural sector
