The John A. Kufuor Foundation is part of the consortium implementing the Public-Private Partnership for Competitive & Inclusive Rice Value Chain Development: Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) – Rice Chapter , funded by AGRA with support from the German Development Corporation and the USAID.
The goal of the project is to improve rice farmers’ income and food security/Safety in the Northern, Brong Ahafo, Volta, Ashanti and the Central regions, through enhanced rice production and marketing systems.
The key objectives are
To increase rice productivity for small holder farmers
To strengthen and expand access to output markets
To increase capacity of smallholder farming households and agricultural systems to better prepare for and adapt to shocks and stresses
Strengthen continental, regional, and government multi-sectoral coordination, and mutual accountability in the agricultural sector
